Have you ever wondered where the term limey comes from?

This is why I love Wiki so much:  The custom of squeezing a lime into Mexican beer began with Tecate. The original brewmaster was of Scottish descent (last name Lorimer), who brought the idea from Great Britain where sailors would be given limes with their daily ration of grog to stave off scurvy (this is where the expression “limey” came from).

Tecate beer is named after the city of Tecate, Baja California where it was first produced.

About the Beer – Pours a golden colour with a half decent head which leaves a tiny bit of lacing.  The smell is very mild.  A bit of grain and sweet corn.  The taste is bland, bland, bland.  It has some sweet malt and almost non existent hops.

Would I Drink it Again? – Probably not, there are better pale lagers in Mexico for my taste buds.
